A Fireside Chat with Bob Nardelli Former CEO of Home Depot and Chrysler

October 5, 2018 | 2:30-3:30 PM | Bern Beatty Colloquium (3rd Floor), Farrell Hall, Wake Forest University School of Business

The BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism presents a unique opportunity to talk about leadership and professional identity in corporate America with Bob Nardelli. From the heart of traditional American manufacturing—he started work at General Electric as an engineer in 1971—to the helm of a fast-paced and dynamic car company, Mr. Nardelli has presided over key transitions that strengthened iconic brands. He grew the venerable GE Power Systems division during his leadership, then moved to Home Depot, where he created a central information and supply structure and doubled the chain’s sales. He then steered Chrysler through a critical restructuring in advance of the 2008–2009 financial crisis that enabled the firm to survive and move toward a powerful partnership with Fiat.

Mr. Nardelli will be joined by Mike Rogers, principal in US Private Equity at Ernst & Young LLP and a member of the Wake Forest University School of Business Board of Visitors. Mr. Rogers has held numerous leadership positions at EY, including leadership in global private equity and transaction advisory services.

A reception will follow the fireside chat in the Colloquium.
